Hotel Bastiani – Grosseto 4 days – 3 nights, Self guided tours for individuals:

Day 1 – Check in in the reserved rooms at Hotel Bastiani : The hotel stands within the 16th century Medici Walls, the ideal location for an original holiday, discovering the charm of the Maremma district. Dinner at the nearby restaurant “I Bastioni ” and overnight.

Day 2 – Breakfast. In the morning discover the area on own  Pitigliano, with its streets dug out of tuff, and on to picturesque Sovana and Sorano; Saturnia, famous for its spa waters, and lastly Alberese, land of the Buttero cowherds and gateway to the Maremma National Park. In the afternoon visit Rocca di Montemassi, the Estate is situated in the low foothills around Montemassi, which is part of the commune of Roccastrada in the Tuscan Maremma: a unique and outstanding area lying between the coast of Tuscany and the metal-bearing hills. Indeed, this area is particularly suited for the production of high quality wines that are characterized by intense aromas and flavors thanks to the siliceous and clayey soil, which is rich in precious minerals, and to the Mediterranean climate, with its constant sea breezes that help mitigate the hot summer temperatures and also keep the grapes healthy. Moreover, the scarce rainfall in spring and summer limits grape yields considerably, ensuring optimum ripening of the fruit. Enjoy a guided tasting of the wines produces in te state afterwards.Dinner in own and overnight.

Day 3 – Breakfast. In the morning individual explorations of the area : near the delightful town of Capalbio you will find the famous Tarocchi Gardens, work of a French contemporary artist, with gargantuan sculptures (12-15m high) of the 22 Tarot cards of the Major Arcana. Don’t miss the nearby Roselle archaeological park and the Vetulonia necropolis; Poggio Pelliccia Funeral Mound a few kilometres from Ribolla with the remains of a monumental Etruscan grave; Lake Accesa where graves and the remains of ancient dwellings can be seen. Lunch on own and return to Hotel Bastiani in the late afternoon. Dinner on own the hotel restaurant and overnight.
